Bayazid Bostami story

One night Bayazid Bostami was studying in his room. His mother was lying on her bed because she was ill. At midnight she woke up from sleep and wished to drink water. Mother told Bayazid to give her a glass of water. Bayazid Bostami stood up. He went to fetch water. But alas! He found not a single drop of water anywhere in the house. The night was dark still. The entire locality was deep sleep. He didn’t want to disturb the neighbors. So he thought what to do. All of a sudden, he remembered a spring. It was at the other end of the locality. He decided to go there. He took a jar and went fountain for water. He filled the jar with water and return home. Bayazid Bostami went to his mother with a glass of water. But by that time, she was asleep again. He didn’t wake up her and stood beside her bed with the glass of water in his hand. The mother awoke up next morning and looked about. She found that Bayazid Bostami was still waiting by her bed with the glass of water in his hand. She remembered what she had said at night and tears of joy rolled down her cheeks. “God Bless you, my son!” said the mother and the boy was really blessed. He became the famous Bayazid Bostami.
