 An honest woodcutter story
 An honest woodcutter story

Once there lived a poor woodcutter. He was very honest. He supported his family by means of honest labour. He went to the jungle and cut wood. Then he loaded the wood on a donkey and went to the market to sell them. One day while the wood-cutter was cutting wood beside a river, suddenly his axe slipped out of his hand and fell into deep water. The wood-cutter became very much sad and began to weep bitterly. His bitter cry drew the attention of the water-goddes. She rose up and asked the wood-cutter, "Why do you weep, good man?" . The wood-cutter told the water goddess of his serious loss. The water goddess took pity on the wood cutter.  Water goddess dived into the water and brought one golden axe and asked the wood-cutter, "Is this your axe?" "No", replied the wood-cutter. Then the water-goddess again dived into the water and brought a silver axe. This time the woodcutter said that it was not his axe. So the fairy dived for the third time and brought the actual axe of the woodman. The woodman was very glad to get back his axe and two extra axes. The goddess became pleased with him for his honesty. She gave him all the three axes.
